Single Estate, all the potential and experience of Vistamar

The grapes of Viña Vistamar’s Single Estate line come from the coast and foothills of the Andes, which are cooled by cold winds that allow a slower maturation and concentration of the fruit. In this way, the line has superior, expressive wines that are very faithful to their origin.

Vistamar is a winery that has studied for years the terroirs where it produces its wines. And his slogan has always been to look for sectors with microclimates and soil conditions that allow and respect the ripening of the fruit. For this reason, it has specialized in cold climate terroirs, areas that deliver wines with greater balance and verticality.

Its Single Estate line comes from 2 valleys, which are recognized worldwide for the exceptionality of their terroirs: Casablanca and Maipo. Following the tradition of the vineyard, these valleys were selected because their soil and climate conditions allow the grapes to take their time and mature at their own pace.

The Single Estate portfolio has 6 wines. Firstly, a Cabernet Sauvignon with an intense ruby color with notes of black fruits such as blackberries and plums. The fruit of this wine comes from the Maipo Valley and is planted in high density to produce 1 kg of grapes per plant and thus obtain tremendously concentrated wines of the highest quality. Fine tannins are perceived in the mouth, and it has a good persistence.

Carmenère, also from the Romeral field in Maipo, is a wine that ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle. It is red violet in color, with aromas of red fruit such as cassis and raspberry and a firm structure, enveloping tannins and good persistence. His latest vintage obtained 90 points from the prominent international critic Tim Atkin.

For its part, the Merlot stands out for its freshness, acidity and great juiciness. It is a medium-bodied wine, with elegant tannins and great freshness. It is ideal to accompany white cheeses, pasta or stewed meats.

Single Estate Pinot Noir, from the Belén field in the Casablanca Valley, is a bright cherry red wine and shows great typicity with intense fruity aromas. On the palate it is rich in red fruits and spices, with a delicate body and elegant structure. It is well balanced and has a long finish.

The Sauvignon Blanc version, also from Casablanca, stands out for its freshness, juiciness and minerality. It is a wine with citrus aromas such as grapefruit and lime and on the palate, it is intensely fruity and full of volume. Finally, the Single Estate Chardonnay is a wine that is kept on its lees for 8 months in French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks. It is an intensely aromatic wine, with notes of flowers and white fruits. Its texture is oily, it has body and a pleasant balance between sweetness and freshness.
