Born in September 1982 in Santiago, Chile. Graduated with maximum honors as an Agronomy Engineer from the University of Chile in 2009, specializing in oenology and viticulture. Once he began his professional career, his first impulse was to gain experience in the diverse winemaking zones in Chile and around the world. This led him to diferent wineries, such as: • Viña Santa Ema, Maipo Valley, Chile. • Celliers du Nouveau Monde, Languedoc-Roussillon, France. • Loma Larga Vineyards, Casablanca Valley, Chile. • Foncalieu Vignobles, Languedoc-Roussillon, France. • Viña Concha y Toro, Limarí Valley, Ovalle, Chile. • Charles Krug Winery, Sta. Helena, Napa Valley, California. He arrived at Viña Morandé in February 2011, where he was the pre-bottling winemaker, and later he was promoted to second winemaker for Morandé, working together with Ricardo Baettig in developing all of the wines. In January 2016, while continuing his work with Morandé, he began working with Vistamar wines, which also belong to the Morandé Wine Group, working together with winemaker Irene Paiva. In 2018, Cristián began working on the El Padre wine, part of the Morandé Adventure project. During his winemaking career, Cristián has completed various technical tours to distinct winemaking regions in the US, Canada, Argentina, France, and Spain, among others. Reinforcing his excellent work at Vistamar, beginning in 2016 he was made responsible for all of the wines at Vistamar, and in September 2019, Cristián oficially became the Director of Winemaking for Viña Vistamar, continuing the development and strengthening of the brand.
